Step into The Vanguard’s intimate den where it will play you a tune or two, sway with you, lift you up and leave you there long after the song stops playing.
Inspired by New Orleans’ sensuous vibrancy, The Vanguard has created a Jazz and Blues restaurant in the energetic hub that is Newtown, washed in warm reds, characterized with 1920s décor of luxurious furnishings and gilt-framed mirrors. Step through the double doors to enter a world of colourful lights, sweet songs and whimsical characters.
Playing host to fabulous Australian and International artists, you’ll find it hard to get sick of the sound of The Vanguard, awarded one of Sydney’s best live music venues. Entertaining its intimate-sized audience, The Vanguard plays Jazz, Blues and Roots to the diners at the front and the liquid-lunchers at the back and upstairs. With every song must come a drink, so take a sip out of the exotic cocktails list, which is so delicious you’ll want to have more than a mouthful. If you’re after a delicious bar meal that isn’t fish and chips, then be satisfied with a menu that offers an eclectic mix of Soul Food and modern Australian cooking, dishing up a delicious combination every time.
With Indie Secret Society nights, special guests from well-known bands, tributes to amazing artists, your senses will be seduced at The Vanguard, a rare gem in the bar/restaurant/music scene in Sydney.
