Pieces of Mind

Do You Believe in Magic?

By Hannah Colless, 25 March 2011

With the Comedy Festival kicking off in a matter of days, Melbourne is in a flurry of talent. Comedians, musicians and entertainers are spilling over the edges of this city like an unsightly muffin top, but if you want something different, something mind-blowing and life-changing, then there is one man for you. His name is Simon Taylor.

In his new show, 'Pieces of Mind', this Melbourne-based illusionist harnesses his background as a psychology student to get inside your head and jumble things up a bit. His understanding of the human mind is obvious and it's what makes him superior to all those Copperfield wannabes out there. He knows what you're thinking, when you're thinking it and he's not afraid to use it.

Known for his playful and energetic style, Simon's vibrant personality gives him the ability to connect with the audience on a deeper level, which in turn allows him to boggle their minds on a deeper level. At the conclusion of one of his shows pieces of mind will be left on the floor.

'Pieces of Mind' runs March 29- April 24 at South Melbourne's The Butterfly Club.
