This Thursday night the Positive Posters launch party & FUNdraiser, as the good people at Positive Posters have coined it, will be taking over The Workers Club in Fitzroy. There will be bands, beer and more positive vibes than Sunday school.
You’ll be dancing to The Raffaellas, Red Ink, Colour Age and The Sheriffs. And if you’re a bit light in the wallet but still want to support a good cause get there before 7.30pm because the Positive Posters folk will shout the first 50 people their first beer (or soft drink for the softies.)
For those of you who don’t know who Positive Posters are, they describe themselves as “a small group of twenty-somethings, who are passionate about positive design and don’t want real jobs.” Instead, they run a Melbourne based, non-profit, annual graphic design competition, which they started last year and is a lot more fun than the daily grind.
This year’s theme is A Glass Half Full and 4000 copies of the winning poster will be plastered all over Melbourne and the world! It’s a serious chance to get your graphic design talent recognised and the FUNdraiser will help to keep this positive competition alive.
So don’t sit at home wallowing in the winter gloom. Come to The Worker’s Club on Thursday night and you’ll break out in a severe case of the smiles before your first beer is even half full.
