Rather than schlumping around this Sunday, nursing your hangover and feeling sorry for yourself, why not schlep your tush down to Malthouse Theatre for 'Matzoh Balls'-this month's edition of Things on Sunday.
Things on Sunday is a series that addresses a range of cultural concerns in contemporary Australian society. It's a concoction of commentary, conversation, philosophy, artistic memoirs, concerts, and, no-doubt, a heated debate or two. 'Matzoh Balls' will be an intimate and entertaining afternoon that celebrates and commemorates Jewish culture in our society.
Libbi Gore will host a predominantly female line-up this Sunday, namely Lally Katz, whose play, A Gollum Story, premiered at Malthouse Theatre on June 15, Elisa Gray and Deborah Leiser-Moore, as well as John Safran, acting as the token male of the event. There will be wine, music, plenty of schmoozing and more Yiddish humour than a Marx Bros film.
And don't kvetsh if you're a goy (non-Jew, that is) because everyone's welcome, whether Jewish, Gentile, or otherwise.
