Zambesi usually equates with something dark and brooding, a character who glides through shadows garbed in a pastiche of textural layers. The Zambesi is an elusive, enigmatic and organic creature, likely to phase in and out of your line of vision like a floating ghost ship. For Spring/Summer 2011, Zambesi holds true to its tradition of darkness- varnishing it’s already multi dimensional character with the addition of rural influences from a sinister harvest.
My favourite looks included some slim cut yet casually slouchy lace trousers in cream for women matched with a structured powder blue blazer, and perfectly tailored suits and shirts with patterned contrasting for men. Zambesi’s signature floaty style was still there, with diaphanous dresses for women and sheer check shirts for men. As it turns out, the ones that never fail to let you down, never do.
