Have a cosy escape

Another new member for the King

This narrow and tall new bar in Newtown is a fantastic alternative to the pubs, and a lot more intimate, minus the ‘bar’ attitude. The guys at Corridor are down to earth, kind and hospitable.

The warm atmosphere offers a comfortable air, with intimate tables for two lining the downstairs wall past the elaborate and extensive bar. If you’ve got more than two of you, then take the stairs to a living-room-esque room to your right full of Chesterfield sofas, lamps and paintings lining the walls or sit on the balcony to your left with long wooden benches and umbrellas overlooking Newtown’s residential area.

For drinks there are beautiful wines on offer, I was recommended a delicious Shiraz, so if you’re stuck for choice, they can choose something pleasing for you, without a doubt. As for beers, they serve Coopers pale long necks for $12 and can knock up amazing cocktails. For the rumbling stomachs they offer delicious food, ranging from gourmet mains including salmon salads to burgers and nachos, all of which are lip-smacking.

Only five months old, this little bar baby is peaceful, friendly and cosy; turning heads and making people go ‘aw’ so get on board and get clucky at Corridor.
