A restaurant romance

Cafe Sydney sets the scene five levels up

By Zoe Ferguson, 13 May 2010

Having lived in Sydney all my life, nothing makes an evening more pleasant than watching the sun set amongst our beautiful Harbour. Especially with a glass of beautiful wine in one hand, and a fork full of delicious food in the other, sitting on a fifth-floor terrace in Sydney’s heritage-listed Customs House in Circular Quay. And where else can this happen but at Café Sydney?

Offering great service to visitors or locals, Café Sydney is sure to impress any diner, by revelling in the essence of Sydney.
Walking out of the lift, there is an open lounge illuminated by natural light through a large glass ceiling, welcoming you to enjoy casual drinks in the retro-styled chairs and poufs, which glow after dark. The lounge invigorates the restaurant with a minimalist edge and effective large dramatic mirror wall. Keep on walking and you instantly fall in love with Sydney all over again. With its open-plan and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, Café Sydney really maximises the already breath-taking view of the Harbour. Set with soft-lifting and tasteful music, the terrace and inside dining area present a very pleasant way to spend an evening with family or friends.

As for pricing for dinner, it rests between middle to higher prices, but you definitely pay for what you get, both visually and tastefully. To maximise your weekends, Café Sydney offers a special Sunday experience. With live music ranging from soulful Jazz to Classical, cocktails and a special menu focusing on seafood and fish from the grill, Café Sydney Sunday showcases the perfect way to top off your weekend.
