I stumbled upon Café Lounge wandering around one night, when my feet started directing me towards the sound of funky music, voices and a fluoro light. This could go terribly wrong, I thought.
But wow, did it go oh-so terribly right.
I had walked into a colourful, mismatched den full of electricity, arty people and loud music. I went straight to the poster-covered bar and then of course, a lounge.
With colourful walls of burnt oranges and cool blues, funky decor and mismatched furniture, it was like being at a house party with your arty friends and whoever lived there was awesome.
This urban oasis has a courtyard and indoor area offering an array of perspectives, comfortable spaces and free-flowing creativity. The Lounge supports local artists and other creatively driven initiatives, supporting the Lounge’s sense of community, hence its welcoming air every visit. The majority of its staff pursues artistic careers in performing and visual arts while music is a common denominator amongst the Lounge crew, with its involvement with performances, live music, DJ’s and photo exhibitions in collaboration with local young and confirmed artists. This passion for art is embraced in live performances and hung on the walls amongst the colourful decor, adding spice and a bohemian feel to this very trendy Sydney bar.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with accepted bookings, amazing cocktails and coffee and tea (served in vintage tea pots!), indulgence is set in a fun, fresh environment.
It’s such a chilled bar, it’s hard not to be relaxed and feel at home in this place. So let the leather couches consume you, the music caress you and the vibrancy embrace you at Café Lounge.
