Perched on top of the Australian Youth Hotel is a bar. This bar used to be a brothel. And what happens in brothels? Well, alot of nudity. So, fittingly, this bar is dubbed Nude. But it, itself, with its over-indulgent decor, its flirtatious drink menu and big velvet antique sofas is anything but nude. But let's undress it anyway...

Like most bars I enjoy, there is alot to look at in Nude - in particular its entire wall crammed full of framed paintings of nude women, paying conspicuous homage to its former days of nuddy fun. Its swallow-you-up couches and cosy fireplaces add to its charm, and its heavy curtains make you feel safe and warm. All in all its an indulgence just to take in the room and its delights - but wait until you head to the bar.

The menu teases and tantalises you and gets you to try things you promised yourself you would never do...but rest assured it gets progressively racy, so no need to back down just yet. For the goodies, there's the Chastity (chamomile Martini with honey and hazelnut), then for the S&M crowd they have the cognac, cinnamon, vanilla and cream cocktail, and finally for the real sadists they serve up the absinthe, mint, pineapple and sugar concoction.

Despite your drink or other personal preferences, Nude can accommodate you comfortably, make you forget your inhibitions and most importantly, let you have fun. Bottoms up.*
