We’re all familiar with man’s best friend- that’s right, the common pooch, our little canine buddy. Or maybe you’re not a dog person? No matter, there are plenty of friendly felines that are just as loyal as their barking counterparts. No matter which way you sway, one thing is for sure- everyone loves the companionship that comes with owning a pet.
But what of the abused, the forgotten and the disowned? North Melbourne’s The Lost Dogs’ Home is Australia’s largest animal shelter, and Somewhere Gallery has launched a unique initiative to help raise funds for the lonely pets that really need them. Launched on 9 March, the project sees 22 artists joining together in an exhibition presented by Somewhere Gallery.
Running until 6 April, 100% of proceeds raised by sales from the exhibition will go to The Lost Dogs’ Home, so make sure you stop by and shed some dollars. We’ve got some opening night pictures of the gorgeous, generous folk in attendance to get you in the mood…
