Investing in knitwear come winter time is always a wise decision—there’s always one time trusted piece that comes out day after day after day when the weather turns chill. I always get attached to huge, oversized knitted sweaters, the kind that go on with jeans, boots and a beanie that not only make you feel as though you’re walking around in a portable electric blanket but that make you feel the kind of winter sexy that comes with the mystery of layers and the allure of snuggles at bedtime. Braide Knitwear—the newest addition to Melbourne’s already full-to-bursting fashion scene, has just the sweater I’m talking about, as well as a whole host of other winter-time treats.
With every piece is designed in Australia and made from 18.5 micron wool used in each garment is spun from Australian and New Zealand spun merino wool. To add to the luxury factor, the wool is physically spun and dyed in Europe before being returned to Australia to be turned into clothing using vintage Bentley knitting machines, using vintage techniques, nonetheless. The collection itself is gorgeous—with floral prints, stripes, cute shoulder frills and maxi dresses, it’s easier than ever to be super cute and super warm at once.
