The Alpha female is a common character on the streets of Melbourne. Dark, brooding, creative and intellectual, this enigmatic character hides death-defying wit and a voracious (sometimes a little bit wicked) sense of humour. Passionate yet stoic, there’s a little bit of the Alpha female in every loyal Melbournite, even if they can’t see it for themselves.
And the spirit of the Alpha female- that mystery, the unassuming beauty and the infinite wisdom- that’s what keeps people in the thrall of this quietly seething city. For winter, Alpha60 has stayed true to the Alpha female, and continued to pen the script that defines Melbourne’s most sought after cult label. From layers to drapes to the deep blacks, charcoal greys, muted blues, nude tones and an unexpected splash of colour, Alpha60 stays true to its distinctive character.
There are some amazing shapes from Alpha60 this season, and it seems to me that designers Georgie and Alex Cleary have finally cut the perfect pair of trousers. Softly tailored carrot legs to compliment any top half, I’d say these pants are the must have item of the season. Other key pieces include signature paper bag dresses that ruche at the waist, and relaxed, elegantly draping tops.
