Incu, like all good things, had humble beginnings. Opening doors for the first time in Sydney in 2001, Incu was the result of two friends looking for something more enticing than the usual retail digs. Now, Incu is taking over the East coast of Australia, and expanding it’s repertoire to include some of the world’s most desirable and talked about labels. From Australian designers like Romance Was Born, Chronicles of Never, Therese Rawsthorne, TV, Pam and Matt Weston (to name but a brief few) to international heavyweights like Minimarket, Sophomore, Acne, Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, Henry Vibskov and A.P.C (again, naming only a select few!), at Incu there is something for everyone, boys and girls alike.
With three stores in Sydney (the unisex Paddington store as well as separate menswear and women’s stores in the city) and the recently opened men’s store in Melbourne, Incu is becoming a cult fashion institution in Australia’s most style conscious cities. Launching ‘Incu Presents Topshop’ in 2009, the retailer has won respect and acclaim in being the first to bring the British High St behemoth to our sunburnt country. If you’re anything like me this will whet your whistle- just a little bit at least- because Tophop brings the most cutting edge of trends, as well as collaborations with high profile designers like Ann Sofie Back and Christopher Kane at affordable prices. With clean lines and a philosophy that favours youth and innovation, Incu stays one step above the rest in the retail wonderland.
