The things I associate with Italy are some of my favourites- gnocchi, gelato and of course, shoes. What then, when the quality and craftsmanship I associate with Italian shoe design comes home to my own shoes? I mean, shores? Apart from having shoes constantly on the shoe (brain), it means that I need to start saving my hard eared shoes (dollars) to purchase the master-pieces of our own favourite designer Shoe Shoe (Tristan Blair).
While I’m in London witnessing the onset of a chilly winter, my Tristan Blair lace up booties fused permanently to my feet, I can now only sit back and salivate at the goings on in my home country. With the eponymous label’s summer range about to hit stores, I’m seriously considering packing it all in for a trip home and a hefty Tristan Blair credit card binge. Entitled ‘Made In Italy’, Tristan Blair’s newest range takes all the best things about Italian shoe design- outrageous colour and texture combinations, vertiginous heels, metallic splashes and of course, quality craftsmanship, and tosses them all in the pot for an Australian summer.
Pairing earth tones of brown with sunset pinks and dusty lilacs, Blair employs studs and metallic sliver flashes to create something both wearable and glamorous. From flat sandals that lace and tie with silver rope to suede loafers to stacked wedges to super-high heels, Made In Italy incorporates every colour of the shoe style rainbow. With something for everyone, shoe lover, Italian romantic or not, there’s no excuses for not blowing your rent money on Tristan Blair’s latest range.
