Where Harry met vintage

More than Wraggs

By Kat George, 25 January 2011

I'm not trying to brag, but I'm in Paris staying with a close French girlfriend who just visited Melbourne. Beaming about her time there, she recalls to me the strange way in which Melbournites are prone to dressing. "And everyone there, all the girls and the boys, they look like they're from the 60's and 70's! It's so wonderful, everyone is vintage, so rock'n'roll!"

Left with this to consider, I realised just how much Melbourne fashion is driven by the neverending reference to vintage and retro culture. From our dive bars to our obsession with vinyl and daisy chains, Melbourne has an undeniably infectious propensity to dally with the past.

The lasted addition to Melbourne's thriving vintage scene is Harry Wragg, borne of the cryptic and the kooky, Harry Wragg asks you to delve into the dustiest corners of history and come out looking sharper than ever. Skip to this limerick as you weave your way through Harry Wragg's bursting racks...

"He may look old,
He may look drag,
But really he is a funny old dag,

Harry Wragg, Harry Wragg,
Your the best I've ever had.

So ask yourself, who the 'F' is Harry Wragg?!"
