Orri Henrisson is reinventing Australian menswear with a vibrant SS11 collection entitled ‘Bobby, King Of Boys Town’. A conflation of influences come together for the label’s seminal collection, with an outcome that is hard not to notice and harder yet not to lust for. And I don’t just mean boy wardrobe lust- Orri Henrisson is a girl’s dream-date’s outfit. Clean cut but playful, Bobby, King Of Boys Town ticks all the summer menswear trend boxes.
With a solid foundation of sportswear, pleats, panels and tailoring give Orri Henrisson clean yet casual cool- a winning combination of stylishness and laid back charm. With subtle retro, teddy boy influences, the collection is largely cast in pastels and features lightweight knits, beautifully tailored shirts and comfortably fitting cropped pants. This summer, Orri Henrisson is going where other designers won’t and putting colour back into the style vocabulary of Australia’s male fashion set.
The label’s summer campaign is shot by one of Australia’s most prolific style bloggers, Matt Jordan, a.k.a Imdelda a.k.a The Style Tyrant. Starring Ashley McConnell, the bass player of Operator Please, styled by James Dykes and collaborating with Dutch artists from Lekkur Studios, the imagery that accompanies the range is just as striking as the clothes themselves. So if you want to get a closer look head to Comeback Kid on Melbourne’s Rankins Lane before November 20- Orri Henrisson is having a pop-up store there where you can purchase pieces from the collection.
