Nightmare on Wall St

Romancing City Limits

By Kat George, 16 June 2010

Romance Was Born have capped off their AW10 collection 'Nightmare on Wall St' with a collaborative short film with music video director Chris Moyes who is responsible for one of my personal favourites, Architecture In Helsinki's 'Heart It Races'. You can watch the film, entitled 'City Limits' here, but note that this one is most certainly not safe for work. The story sees a double crossed heroine, played by Romance favourite model Tanya Gacic, pursue her antagonist to a party (where all the guests are wearing Romance Was Born) before she blows the heads off them all in a gore fest of fashion and blood.

The film itself- cheesy and OTT yet fun and creative- is a testament to Romance Was Born's dedication to tongue-in-cheek humour. The collection has a strong 80s feeling with costume jewellery in chunky gold and vibrant jewel colours. High waisted pants and skirts with matching cropped jackets in Versace style prints are a favourite, while vertiginous hair and space age makeup top off the look to Material Girl perfection. Tanya G's crazed shooting spree is just what's needed to add that extra punch to an already ostentatious range.
