State of Design

A state of style

By Business Chic, 29 July 2011

State of Design is the state of Victoria's Design Festival. Held within or around a range of iconic city and regional spaces, the program is consists of design and creative exhibitions, activities and talks showcasing emerging and established thought leaders, chefs, designers and crafters.

Unsurprisingly, the festival attracts interested and interesting folks, much like the streetstylers we spotted at the Royal Exhibition Building for Design Made Trade - the business and trade component of the festival.

On now until 31 July 2011, make sure that you check out the public events that invite viewers to engage in the theme, Design That Moves. Our favourites so far include Chasing Kitsune, the delivery-truck-turned-foxy-Japanese-food-truck utilising social media to alert punters to the new locales it inhabits each day; Do Design Space the part classroom-part-installation nestled within the elegant bones of the Melbourne's GPO and the very handy Roll Up Bicycle Valet Parking - cycle in style and leave your wheels in the trusty hands of this friendly service that leaves everyone smiling.
