Style Tips for (Party) Sailors

Sailing World Cup Melbourne

By Business Chic, 14 November 2011

The Sailing World Cup Melbourne was held over the weekend at Sandringham Yacht Club. We were invited to celebrate at an elegant soiree held on the Club's balcony that shimmered with a stylish set and was made complete with runway show from Pineda Covalin and performance by singer Chloe Maggs and Collective Live.

Sarah Willcocks from StyleMelbourne.com and celebrity stylist Phillip Boon shared their tips for smartening up yacht style. Willcocks recommends "a beautiful summery, flirty dress; one that kind of makes you feel like it's springtime again." BusinessChic duly noted that many of the Lifestyle Party attendees had opted for this look with shifts in floral prints or bright pops of colour the go.

Boon keeps it simple for gentleman "don't wear black and go nautical; stripes are great." We spied gents going above and beyond in the sailing style stakes by opting for comfortably tailored shapes in light shades which they paired with the brightest blues in the spectrum.
