So the story goes, a trio of Generation Y kids felt that contrary to what the older generations think, their generation did actually care about social issues. They felt that the real issue was that they didn't know how they could help make a difference.
And so We Don't Care (WDC) Inc was born. The not-for-profit volunteer-run organisation gives Gen Ys the chance to make a difference by running fundraising events that they can work on around study and jobs. These events raise funds for charities who need support for their programs tackling poverty, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse and violence.
We checked out their first fundraising effort, The Fashion Fund Market where second-hand goods were on sale to raise awareness for Melbourne's homeless and support for the organisations who help them. We found a stylish lot there too, check it out.
